One drawback to these handles is with holes on the scales it becomes easy to slip a fingertip into the hole and if the blade is sharp (and the blade should always be sharp) easily cut yourself when reaching into a pocket.
Was given a skeleton blade Gerber as a free gift when buying a bird license and it is still in the box.
Can't see how to carry it in a pocket without risk. YMMV.
