I'm interested in putting a compact scope on a Pre-81 BLR 308 with Weaver #54 bases. I would like quick release rings, mounting as low as possible while keeping the iron sights on the gun, and to keep a traditional look. My pick so far for the scope is a Leupold FX-II 2.5x20 Ultralight, Wide Duplex. Does anyone have this scope on a BLR and have quick release mount ring recommendations? I have used Leupold QRW on another gun and like them. I would like to go with low rings and am hoping this small scope would allow for it. I would also be interested in hearing other options in compact scopes/quick release mounts for the BLR. Thanks!
Hey EdH, welcome to the Browning Owners Community!! Leupold makes great scopes, i have one that i have used on several different rifles and has worked great on all of them. I don't own a BLR so wont be much help on options for quick release but hopefully someone else can chime in. BTK
