I inherited this hi power years ago and was wondering what could be told about it.

Seems like so many guys want to date High Powers this week.

I want to see better pictures. Full pistol both sides. Clear details of any markings inside and out. Date code photos...

By serial number I would guess 1951-1952.

There will be date code marks on various original parts. They will not likely be the same. On the frame of yours it will be on the right side front of the trigger guard. You are looking for a number surrounded by a partial box. I can't quite make it out in your last picture. You will also find one on the foot of the slide, the back of the firing pin retaining plate and possibly on the inside of the slide.

If I could read the marks on the left side of the frame and slide, an asterisk above a letter, I could tell you who inspected the pistol. Looks like it might be *R .

    Cheers,
    Tim
  3. Should be a date code on the magazine too assuming you have the original with metal follower? Are you able to post closeups of the date codes?
