A friend just sent me a text saying he found what he thought was probably a Browning A5, only to discover upon close inspection it is marked "Westernfield"(?). He says it has a crossbolt safety yet has what looks a lot like the early style "straight" trigger (less curved than the later models.) It has the magazine cut-off lever. Square butt butt stock, and he didn't remember if it had a rib on the barrel or not. So, who would have actually made it, Savage or Remington? I have never heard of a Westernfield copy. I do remember at a gun show a handful of years ago seeing a copy made in Japan, I think, and it wasn't a Miroku.
That thing at the gun show was probably a "Yamamoto Auto Pointer" post war knock off crap with an alloy receiver. Not remotely in league of Miroku
