new to forum & got some questions about a real nice Browning 22 lr; its made in belgium & a grade II; its got a serial number on buttplate that dates it to 1959 but.......when breaking it down the serial number??? is different thats on the receiver face versus the buttplate; it has aT but then has 6 digit not 5 & they are totally different; I sure am hoping this is normal & hasnt been changed or put together like a parts gun on the buttplate is T 534XX on the receiver face is a T & under it is 1849XX any help will be much appreciated randy
Chances are the gun has mixed parts...the receiver being the original, the buttplate being the swapped in part. Still, a very nice piece of history !!
Are there any other letters/numbers that are apart of where it states T? It sounds like intially it is two different pieces but like shooter said, still a great gun regardless.
