I recently acquired a browning superposed lighting 20 gauge made in Belgium in excellent like new condition with serial number starting with 53xxx V8 I’m doing some research and I’m thinking it was made in 1968 in which makes it a high probability of salt wood but shows no visible signs of rust, I am planning on doing a silver nitrate test to be sure but my question is there a chance that it was made with good wood to start with or may have already been fixed ? I would post pictures but I’m new to this site and haven’t figured out how to do that , any help would be appreciated Thanks !
