Are those yours? How about some history, or something, or you just wanted to tease us?

They’re not mine. But they may come up for sale, probably on GunBroker. If so, I’ll give you guys a heads up.

What's the story with these beauties?

An internet friend may sell them. He gave me first shot, but I don’t need any more. (Not unless it’s one of those fantastic bargains like you pointed out to me last year.)

He said he’s not ready to go public yet, so for now it’s just a tease.

I think you should buy them

I think he’s going to want some serious coin for these guns. I’m happy to look at the pictures. Besides, when the time comes, my widow will be saddled with the huge task of disposing of my collection as it is. I don’t want any big money items.

I have thought about leaving your guys info with my wife in the event something would ever happen to me. That way she would have a little guidance in what to do with my guns

Hello, I'm new to the site. And, I'm not an expert on anything ( I wanted to get that out of the way ). I recently found a shotgun that I thought was an FN Auto-5 ( straight stock ). It was a consignment gun in another state, so I had to rely on memory. I put in a bid after a month and teh former owner accepted. The gun is a Browning Auto-5, serial number 788X. Would that serial number be from the 'First Year'?

Hello Jim, that would be from 1904, the second year. And how it ended up in the US, if that’s where you are, would be an interesting story. Because after 1903, these guns weren’t imported again for 20 years.

When you get your shotgun, we would appreciate some pictures. In the meantime, you can become an expert by reading this thread:

Hi, I have read the posts from Rudolph31 regarding his 'First Year' Auto-5. He states that 4121 A-5's were made in 1903. If that's the case would my Browning A-5 ( #788X ) be from 1904?

HiRudolph31!!! I'm sorry for my second post. I did not see your reply. I will read through the 'Timeline' threads. I am in Pennsylvania, outside of Philly. I'll get pics up ASAP. You'll see the fine threaded cap, Cockerill Steel, square profile spring, Ogden address, etc.
