Tried federal Power shock 150s. "1-1/2 group. Power shock 180 grain "1-1/2 group. Winchester XP3 180 grain "1-1/2. Tried HSM brand 210 grain with Berger VLDs and "1/4 Wind seems to make little difference with these things to! No chronograph but best I can tell I get more than the advertised velocity out of most rounds just going by 100 & 300 meter field testing. From what I can tell with my "22 barrel I am getting 2600fps out of these things @ 65-70 deg f. Wonder if HSM would tell me what powder they use for this load?
Purchased an F1 Chrony and now know that this thing shoots 100-150fps faster than what factorys post on their ammo boxes. Federal 180gr power shock (cheap stuff) rated 2700 actual 2815ish HSM rated 2534 fps actual 2695ish I love this thing!
At the moment I just have a 10x42 SWFA SS scope to hold me over until I can get something with a variable power.
Does anyone know is it common for x-bolt rifles to shoot faster than most? I would consider getting one in another caliber one day if I knew this was the norm.
Your HSM Bergers are all you seem to need, wow! If you miss your game, its not the gun's fault, that's for sure!
