Does anyone know of any entity that is tinkering around with 3D printing or manufacturing the longer Forearm for the Browning Auto 5/8, preferably in a synthetic material (as the Browning Rhodesian Auto 8 has) ??? Any leads, info would be greatly appreciated, Thanks JB
From my playing around you can draw what you want on a software program “blender” which slices and segments to a file making it transferable reading to anybody with a suitable printer. You will have to do some research into plastics types and properties as a gun forend is such a large component in the plastic printing world it will need a large heated table machine and a procedure to avoid droop or loss of accuracy. You will need to look for somebody with commercial grade large scale machines . If you can borrow a forend they can do 3D rotary scan which saves a lot of drawing and designing time. Again trick is scanners are small unless you find that larger scale specialist operation. That’s about all I can contribute from my own experiences as not my area of expertise.
