I have a Belgian made sweet 16 that I am looking to date. It has an S ser. number prefix. Enclosed is a photo of the #. Near as I can tell its a 1956-1957, but the S prefix is confusing me. The barrel is B90266 with 2 ** on it where it says special steel. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Stu
Ranger is correct, serial number S 85966 is a 1957 gun. The S prefix was added to Sweet Sixteens, while the regular gun got an R. There is, or was, a no-prefix serial number 85966 made in 1930, so the prefixes are important.
