As I was searching for a picture to go with my recent post about striking and reloading in CQB I came across the following article on Shooting Illustrated. It's a good article to introduce someone to (or review) the basics of using a shotgun for self-defense. The author even used a 930 SPX during his training. Good article, Very basic and easy to grasp for the "New HD person" I really like the photos that explain any technical terms visually so that the newer person can grasp what is being talked about. This would be a good basic class, along with setting up an HD type gun. Also like the importance placed on the reload on the go. It takes a lot of training(practice) to get that in muscle memory,
Overall a very good basic starting point. What I liked: Shooting squared up Eyes-muzzle-target Load what you shoot Loading with the support hand while keeping muzzle oriented to target/threat What I don't like: Not downloading Operating bolt with firing hand on select slug Not using the +1 on cover/leading with the muzzle
