Think it was 875.00 but if I was going to buy it I would offer 1700.00 and include complete restoration. Gun would be a good deal that way.
I haven’t seen any good deals at Art’s in years. This looks like one. I saw the silver peeking out and assumed it was converted. What makes you think it wasn’t?
When you look at opening the charging handle is against the receiver, you should see a slight bit of barrel on a unmodified port, you have room to move that barrel back 3/16 in , this should make sliver disappear?
If the numbers match and the barrel says browning brothers it wouldn’t matter to me if they changed the ejector. Numbers can always be matching if you know what I mean.
Was the markings done by the FN or by Browning co in the U.S.? Are there any 12 gauge with that marking?
Yes there are 12ga with the browning brothers arms I have sold a 12ga solid rib barrel with the same. I bet it was only one year but I’m guessing
It seems you have had all the Browning rarities. You had exactly the same markings on a 12 gauge with a solid rib and you sold it?
Yep I sold lots of browning barrels. I really believe the first year that browning brought back the guns to us market they had a shipment of guns marked that way. I know I read somewhere that some guns said browning brothers on them before I found that barrel. I think I got 500.00 for the barrel. But it’s been 6 or 7 years ago.
