    Yep, I drifted over to our sister site, Mossberg owners and sent their admin a DM to see if he has heard from the owner. I am betting not but we will see. I noticed the same issues over there. They were supposed to get the update like last year. Looks like last time owner logged in over there was last year. If you have anything important on here, make another copy and put somewhere else, it will likely disappear from here.

    There has been a rash of that it seems. RemingtonOwners.com is another one, altho' dunno if the xxxOwners forums are all related. MarlinOwners is vibrant and strong.

    if the founder on any of those sites are the same as Browning owners, then it's all connected. I was admin on Winchester owners, and it was destroyed, I tried a lot to stop the spam but without forum support it's not happening. Several years ago, there was a spat between owner and one of the old admins, so to get back at the owner he set the approval process for new members to self-approve. You can imagine what happened with that.

    I just checked and RemingtonOwners.com went dark. It had been on life-support (I was a global mod there) for a long time w/zero-involvement by the owner(s) who wouldn't even respond.

    O yea, I am very familiar with that. Same here. I went as far as leaving a message at his work. Never did return my call. I even got ahold of web people to see if I could just pay for the site update and was told if I wasn't on the original certificate then nothing they could do. So, when it goes south, that will be it.

    Its a sad thing when these forums are allowed to die from lack of attention. I get it when the topic is too narrow (the other one I moderate is rem870.com/forum) and I get it, it's a one-trick-pony of a no-longer produced item (well sadly let's say "barely produced") that is being over-shadowed. Ya gotta be relevant, active, flashy....

    It will be sad day when this site eventually does. Lots of interaction knowledge and friendships been established over years.
    We need a backup plan so not to completely loose contact with all who participate and communicate regular.

    One thought would be to get a Browning section reunion going on an active site like 24hourcampfire (https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/) since they don't have a Browning-specific sub-forum.

    @work passing off everything on my plate to the underlings who will take over this job in 10 work-days. Ya know over a career how many friggin' periodicals, industry newsletters, unsolicited crappolla that somehow has you down as a "subscriber" needs to have a knife put in it?!? It's endless.

    @work since 5am today. Leaving early for my first trip to see the doc at VA. We see how that goes. Surly they can do just checkup.
    I am going to start giving my life lesson tips, maybe someone will get some use out of these.
    Life lesson #1 :
    If you approve some work to be done, you can't call back 2 days later and decide not to do it.
