I had struggled with a Caldwell. I had some anxiety having such a previous rotten experience. I kinda miss my old Ohler 33 which has died. It was 35+years old. To date there has been no problems with the DX-L. My A bolt in 300 WSM was just short of 3000 fps with 180 gr. Hornady bullet. Lost data when phone got run over.
You may want to call Ohler, they use to fix them. I need to use mine more. It really is easy to use. I also have the Ohler 35P, but it takes some time to set up and the results aren't really any better in my opinion then the Pro Chrono.
I just upgraded my LabRadar (total pita) to a garmen. Garmen is a significant improvement, I think. I haven’t been doing much load development lately though. I’m stuck with Doppler because most of my readings are at a public indoor range about a mile from my home. They don’t have line breaks.
