I miss mine from childhood teens plinking cans . One of the very early FN marketed versions before they ever made way to USA. <br />
Completely blued  with FN world market  rollstamp no engraving no checkering , that loaded from the top behind the receiver and had the thin splinter forend.<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<span style="font-family: 'Verdana'"><span style="font-size: 18px">I have made an honest on long effort to ID my little Browning SA 22.  Found it this weekend at a gun show in a rack beside a Savage .22 Hornet Model 23D.  I bought both on a really good deal.<br />

So here is the serial number - I can&#039;t make tails nor heads out this number no matter what list or chart I look at.  I hate to admit such ineptness but it is what it is.<br />

I recently bought a 1963 grade 1 and went to the range to adjust the sights, if needed. Installed on the gun is the original flip-up style rear and solid gold bead front sights. I found it&#039;s shooting like 8 inches too high at 50 yards, even with the rear sight adjusted all the way down. &quot;Huh, now what?&quot; I got the idea to flip the sights down and pictured the gold bead right above the flat line that the flipped down rear sight created. I was passed down a &#039;61 SA-22. Was so caked in carbon I was surprised it even cycled. Had minor rust in a few spots. I&#039;ve currently got literally every single piece stripped (even the tiny rear sight parts). Boiled and carded everything to stop any rust and got the entire thing soaked in kerosine before I rebuild. <br />

Everything went smooth except for removing the outer mag tube which was a freaking headache! I almost was convinced it was a LH thread because of the difficulty. I&#039;ve used less...<br />

So, my first semi will be an SA-22, I just found a 1987 grade two at a nice price, its not what I went looking for but will serve me well as an everyday target rifle.<br />
The SA-22 is tapped and fitted with a scope and its had a moderator fitted by its one owner, who was a UK farmer, UK farmers dont shoot much to be honest.<br />

When checking the serial number I noticed one of the digits had been overstamped with a different number - changed a 6 to a 7.  That caused the rifle with the original serial number of 3T58760 to become 3T58770.  I called Browning and they suggested the original number might have been stamped incorrectly by machine, (the 6 not rotating over to a 7) and when the operator discovered it, he stamped in the correct number.
