I have a 1964 A-5 Mag 12 with a Browning rubber recoil pad. There are no screws apparent to remove the recoil pad. Is this a slip-on, slide-on or ??? Can anyone give me some advice? The pad itself has some diamond shaped holes on the side for shock absorption and a white plate and black plate to the stock.

Ultimately I want to add material to the length that was removed by a previous owner.

When a skilled gunsmith installs a recoil pad, the screw holes are nearly invisible, but they ARE there. Find the holes and remove the screws. I'd take it to someone who's done it before. Art's Gun Shop for example.

Like Rudolph said the holes are normally pretty small expecially if done right. You have a pic you can post of it?
