If you want a good reason to fight and look after your firearms amendment and freedom of speech rights take a look at what is set to happen in Australia 19 ,20 Jan 2026. Front page stuff.
Anyone who has,uses or owns a firearm or airloom is in the turn point fight of their life.
About as knee jerk and poorly thought Government reaction and response legislation as you likely to see and get. The bill will likely pass.

This is why so important not to take things for granted and always pay attention to who is voting and undermining what.

Over here, Primary elections are where we can make the most difference. The majority of voters ignore them, so your vote is more powerful. Getting Rights- friendly candidates on the ballot is better than voting for the lesser of two evils.

Joining gun rights organizations is important also. I’m a life member in the NRA, SAF, and CCRKBA. I’ve also joined the Missouri Firearms Coalition which has strengthened the Second Amendment in our state.

Unfortunately for us it's a numbers game in the English Westminster system and the standing left Government will lobby extra Senate votes through doing a backdoor deal with the Greens to secure the bill. Things are so close so Left will have to sell its soul to get it across line.
Some very dirty Politics and manipulation going on so they can ram the gun laws bill home as excuse and use to deflect real problem off standing Government.
Why all our National Security Protection Agencies and firewalls completely failed to share known information of identify Islamic extreme terrorists and final straw handed them a gun licence.?
Come Wednesday next week it may be an offence for me to write or even comment.

I would urge anybody in US to talk about this at local clubs and ranges take serious note as to what is happening in Australia with ridiculous laws and how bad it can go so quickly.

One advantage of the Parliamentary system is, I believe, that it’s easier to get harmful laws rescinded. But you’ll have to elect real Conservatives first.

Yes well lucky enough there is a third more right side option that has swiftly gained overnight numbers and swing increases to point of being able to seriously challenge outright and win next election.
Last time this situation happened the primary parties came up with a novel idea to throw the threat leader in jail on false accusation

Time line wise this is how quick unopposed unchallenged unchecked Government can meddle with gun laws and ownership
Dec 14 2025 events perpetrated
Dec 22 State laws passed on gun ownership number with zero consultation.
Jan 20 2026 Federal Law to pass on amendments with national buy back scheme and removal of certain weapons classifications from the public
Zero ability to challenge and army to engage any failure to comply situation.

The insanity continues. After reading the latest bill amendments for voting in 2 days time
" attire or accessory " be shooting vest or shell pouch that holds more than 30 rounds is to be made an illegal import item and classified as terrorist attire.

Worse still is to view, hold,research or store firearms related information from internet sources can be considered an offence with jail time upon the Governments open ended interpretations and discretion.

Absolute crazy stuff being rushed through 11th hour without thought or debate prior. . A Government gone nuts.......

My God. They’re regulating shell pouches and shooting vests? They’re insane. Need a sponsor?

Now the above samples of stupidity is why every gun owner /range shooter/hunter /gunshop owner and rancher in Australia is feverishly writing to Members of Parliament and Senators to voice some common sense , slow down and consider things carefully on such an important issue.
More importantly this experience should be shared to every shooting body in the USA to highlight how quickly and radical Governments can get if unaccountable to the people and not monitored.

Well the madness is already escalating day one at Parliamentary sitting on debate to pass Firearms Reform Bill 2026 Down Under.
A National buy back scheme tabled that is supposed to cost 1 billion but industry experts figures are conflicting this to a blow out of 4 billion.
It's only taxpayers money who cares....... Imagine how useful a 4 billion injection to our Public Health System would be amongst 27 million people. Waste of money that would go long way better spent in other areas that really need the funding.

Wow Politics moves in strange ways...

Australia is made up of 6 States and 2 Territories. My State Queensland (the best one) has turned around told the Feds to completely get stuffed along with both the Territories and 2 other States with another undecided.
A real kick of sand in the eyes of the Federal Government who expected the States to just roll over and cave in
There has never been such an open anti Government sentiment flying as high as it is now and it's just ramping up more for Tomorrow.
This continued level of rising rebellion and criticism from within and outside could see our Prime Minister figurehead (president) eventually have to fall on his sword and step down. The ultimate humiliation for being an arrogant idiot and not listening to the Country.

Auzzie, I watch Mark And Sam" on Youtoob religiously. (A husband and wife extreme long range shooters.) They are in Australia somewhere. Since he is shooting numerous larger (and a few smaller) calibers, can it be guessed that he will soon be regulated out of his efforts?

Bill I think Mark and Sam are based in neighbouring NSW (New South Wales) where the most draconian hardest State laws have just been put in place. They have restricted ownership numbers there to four guns per person so they will probably still be able to function and put out a show.
The alarming bit is how the Government will attempt to control the free speech aspect or internet content they broadcast or post as it's all a part 2 of this Bill of laws they are trying to ram through.

Well 5 more Senators got some polite well constructed mail from me yesterday explaining the facts of life from my angle and why they should be carefully considering their position and paying attention to the debate today before casting their vote.
As much as you can't control the situation you have to try.
Australia only has a population of 28 million basically whole country equals (new York) but never in history has their been such pressure put on an administration by the average population who are seeing through the smoke and mirrors and demanding better.
