Recently purchased a second Buck Mark to use as a dedicated silencer host. Got a good price on a Micro Bull stainless and want to have the barrel threaded.

The take down screw is NOT 7/64 Hex but appears to be some kind of hex. Appears others have had a similar problem to mine. I've googled and searched for a remedy and the best I can find is to slightly modify a 3mm Hex.

Anyone else experience this problem and have a good remedy?

Update: Very happy to report that the barrel is off. Filed a 3mm Hex tool just enough to remove the black coating. 10 seconds later the barrel was off. No bench vise or heat required.
