I came across this A5 today serial #233988 with a FN in a circle above the number. Appears to be in good condition, barrel is serialized to the gun and the wood is solid and no cracks.
    Is this a pre war gun? IMG_1573.JPG IMG_1574.JPG IMG_1574.JPG IMG_1575.JPG

Well, it’s pre-Korean War. It’s one of the first post WWII guns, made in 1946.

I wasn't sure if it was one the last guns made before the war or one the firsts after.

Auto-5’s were produced from 1903 to 1998, so pre-war can mean prior to the First World War. If you’re not careful, you’ll end up with a few.

    That wouldn't be so bad.
    Nice collection.

Thanks, there’s more in the safe. Two are pre-Great War, four pre-Second World War, and the rest more recent.

    Enjoy yours.
