For those of us with Concealed Carry permits, or Open Carry depending on your state's carry laws, post up your EDC handgun...
For me it's my Kimber Ultra CDP II .45 riding in a Bianchi Carrylok. I also carry my Kahr P380 in an ankle band as a back-up in colder weather. The Kahr sometimes servers as my primary for light/summer carry and rides tucked into my shorts in an Uncle Mike's IWB holster.
There are a couple more that get a turn in the carry rotation... Glock 26 S&W Performance Center 629 .44mag Beretta 92fs Compact Type M (single stack)
Just love the look of the 44mag. unfortunately Getting your carry license is almost impossible in the county i live in. You can get a target license but haven't got a chance to getting around to it....
BillytheKid, what county of New York do you live in? I am assuming it is one of the NYC counties or Long Island. What upstate counties could be that tough?
Just picked up a new conceal carry handgun (S&W M&P9 Shield) for $200.00 out the door. Came with range time, range bag, targets, extended magazine, snap caps, and $40.00 R.I.P. ammunition. I think I did okay. She is a little sweetheart to shoot!
How does that new S&W M&P Shield like that G2 Research ammo Rob...does the 9mm feed well !? I bought three boxes of the G2 R.I.P. in .45 ACP at a Philly Gun Show... { I collect .45 ACP Specialty Ammo }. I've shot a few, but I have not carried it in my EDC. Here are the stats: 162 gr. solid copper / lead free 13′ – 16″ of Penetration 6.6 – 8″ Diameter Spread 2″ Groupings at 15 yrds 960 FPS average (+10%) 9 Separate Wound Channels Precision Machined Defeats all known barriers such as sheet metal, sheet rock, windshields, plywood, heavy winter clothing.
@SHOOTER13: My first handgun training class, many years ago, was taught by a LEO who carried a blue finish Gold Cup on his hip. For some reason, I never forgot that.
Indeed. I have a buddy who carries one. Loves it! I do love seeing fellow 1911 carriers! Oooo... 'demz is purrrdy!
Don't know yet. I just shot some 115gr. fmj's, 115gr. Hornaday Critical Defense, and 95gr. DRT hollow points through it so far. I have the Hornadays loaded up for now. I would like to carry the R.I.P.s, but did not have time last night to run them through the firearm, and I refuse to carry any ammo that I have not test fired first. As for the rest of the ammunition, the Shield cycled flawlessly, with the exception of one stovepipe (first round that Tiffany fired through it), though I suspect she limp-wristed it a bit. I will say this... this thing is a little flame thrower! Shoots a fireball about 6-8" in diameter out the muzzle. Sounds like you are firing off a 40 mike-mike, too. ;-D
