    I do have a little J3 Cub time. But I’ve much more in the Super Cub that I used to tow gliders in. Circa 1979:

    Just the opposite for me. Thing I like about the 3 is that it gets off so much shorter than the SuperCub.

    We did side by side takeoffs next to a 150 hp SuperCub with VGs and a 160hp SuperCub without. The 3 had 100 hp and a flat prop. All three planes lightly loaded, on grass, into 8 mph wind.
    The SuperCubs were off in 195 feet, the 3 took 65 and was about 25 feet in the air when the other two broke ground. That would have changed drastically in their favor if we had all been heavily loaded.
