Hi all, I just purchased a 20 Gauge 725 to go along with my 12 ga 725 Sporting. I just took the receiver off to flush out any manufacturing debris and was surprised to see the stock bolt hole is pillared and the receiver is glass bedded where it bears against the stock in the tang area. My 12 gauge has neither treatment. Both guns were manufactured this year. Was this possibly in response to the well documented cases of cracked stocks on 725’s? It seems reasonable to me that the 12 ga would get this treatment first with it’s heavier recoil. Anyone have any other ideas?
