I've got a brand new White Lightning that I fired for the first time today. Three times after firing, I had difficulty opening the breach with the top lever. Is this just an issue because it's brand new, or something I should be concerned about?

Welcome to the Browning Owners Forum Spirit87 !!

1st question...did you oil / lube the major part(s) as prescribed in the owners manual...!?

Yes I did, I spent about hour cleaning the shipping grease off of the gun, then lubed it up per the manual.

Well then..I would re-apply the oil to the latch, then work said latch a few dozen times...opening then closing...pushing the latch to the side each time to work the oil in...then off to the range to see how see acts under firing conditions. ( It's just new and needs to be used a few times to loosen up the metal to metal surface mating ).

Let us know how you make out...
