I just purchased an older BLR in a 308. I believe it was made in the early 70's based on the serial number ending in K72. I'm in search of a forward type of scout scope mount (picatinnny rail) but everything I'm finding is for the "takedown" models. Will they work on an older model that is a non-take down?

    Any advice?

    Thanks

No idea. Does your rifle have mount holes in the barrel? If not, then what you want is a 'custom' proposition, and as such is certainly doable if you find a good 'smith and bring the money.

Holes where the rear sight would be.

Still acknowledging that I do not have one of the steel-receiver BLRs, the pic of the scout rail in this RealGuns review suggests that they mount it using 3 screws, which is 1 screw more than my BLR's rear sight possesses.
