My BL22 does not have the serial number stamped on receiver. I’m assuming it’s early 1969 and may be on the barrel. The stamping is super small, light and seems to fade off during the word “patten”. Would the SS number be elsewhere???

Highly unlikely. The manual said it’s stamped on the right side of the receiver.

    • Birth Year: The BL-22 line was introduced to the market by Miroku (Japan) in 1969. Models marked "Patent Pending" without the year stamp were from this introductory first run. © Browning +1
    • Serial Number Location: On standard production BL-22s, the serial number is usually found on the bottom of the receiver. If your model lacks a number here, it's either an early factory display, a pre-production model sent to dealers, or occasionally a factory error where the number was missed.
