Just bought a new MK3 BAR in 308

The base of the barrel doesn't have bluing, it's like black paint and it can come off with your fingernail.

Overall, the gun is nice and light but the fit and finish on it is not awesome.... Kind of wish I'd went with the MK2 Safari. crap.jpg

Thats terrible. Did you buy the rifle sight unseen? I would call Browning about it. Nice rifle otherwise. I bet it will shoot great.

I would also contact Browning !!

...let us know how you make out.

Are you _sure_ that's the base of the barrel, vs. something to do with the receiver, which is anodized aluminum?

    Either way, it's disappointing.

What did you find out? I am about to order a BAR MK3. Wondering if this is a systemic issue or a one-off.

Why are the receiver screws missing? I have the same rifle, and the barrel doesn’t look like that at all. Something looks amiss!
