has anyone had a browning restored by Art lately?
I have held two (unknown how long ago they were restored though) , but don't own one. Other than the mention of Art's hot-bluing verses rust bluing, I have never heard a bad word about his work on A5s. For a random sampling of two, and having held a couple of A5s in my grubby hands over the years, I was impressed as can be!!! I have seen plenty of bad work, a fair amount of good work, a few with exceptional work. Art's up up on top of the heap.
Excellent work, and fair pricing. That combination is tough to beat.
That pretty well sums it up. I have had Art’s repair several of my Auto-5’s over the years, some while I watched. The work was outstanding. I’ve only had one go in for cosmetic reasons, and I was very pleased. I have a very nice 1948 Sweet Sixteen. Nice metal, but the checkering was worn flat. Here are the before and after:
That checkering is beautiful!
