    Hi All,
Anyone know what grade this would fall into for a 1970 BAR? I talked to Browning customer service and they confirmed the manufacture date but could not tell me the grade. I picked this up at the local Cabelas and it was covered with camo gun tape. After a few hours of removing adhesive, I found this great stock.

What did you use to clean off the tape and glue...

...and what did you use to restore the stock to that fine looking slab of wood !?

I tried mineral oil, olive oil, WD-40, my finger nails...all to no avail. Then I found a youtube video of a gunsmith cleaning adhesive off with Hoppes #9. I tried it and presto, it worked. No damage to the original stock finish. I did not do anything but clean the adhesive off and a wipe down with mineral oil.
