This is my grandaddy’s old 16 - i dont have any books or info on it but would like to know when it was made if anybody out there can tell me
No problem - just would like to know how old it really is. It’s in the same condition as it was the last time we hunted together which was about 30yrs ago. You can see the tape he put over the stock as a “repair” and if you look close the file marks at the front of the bolt. It has safety in front of trigger guard and originally shot 2-9/16” shells is about all i can think of to list as identifying features
100135 and has sort of star looking mark above s/n - didnt realize you were jokin... actually want to leave it as is the way he left it - nobody’s fired it since he passed away
Looks like 1935. http://www.nramuseum.org/media/940941/serialization-date of manufacture.pdf If it were my grandfather’s, I would honor it and him by returning it to a usable condition. I don’t display pictures of my parents when they were old and dying, the pictures show them young and healthy. Why not do the same for their things?
