I just picked up a 1977 BLR and the lever when cocked doesnt stay up, I've heard that it could be a safety like some other lever guns I've seen, needing it squeezed against the stock to fire. Is this the case or is there a problem?
The number one problem with the rifle, ever, is that people try to take it apart and don’t time the gears correctly when putting it back. Many gunsmiths won’t tonight it either. Find one that had worked on them before
