Hello all, I recently bought a my first older a-5. It came with 2 barrels one of which has a poly choke company tube on it. We're these ever a factory add on or something somebody had added? Thanks!

According to the S/V book (available here: https://www.fnbrowning.com/browning-auto-5-shotguns) Poly Chokes could be installed by the factory, Browning, or a gunsmith. Dealers were assigned a number typically stamped on the choke, FN’s was 9 and Browning’s 11.

I have two Auto-5’s with Poly Chokes, and neither has a number stamped on it.

As an aside, I like Poly Chokes. I like the ease of changing chokes. And I like the weight at the end of the barrel, when I shoot without one my swing isn’t nearly as smooth. Also, they decrease the value of the gun; I’ve paid $500 for Poly-equipped Light Twelve’s that would have gone for $700 or more without it. Some say Poly Chokes don’t pattern well, I say they pattern well enough.
