Hi all, I have been into shooting for a long time but so far only handguns. I have been thinking about clay shooting for a while, and I now have the opportunity to buy a used 725. Although I know hanguns, I have no experience with shotguns. Can someone explain me what to look out for when buying a used 725, or point me to relevant information? Thanks,
Welcome to the Browning Owners Forum areslagae !! Here is some good info: http://www.outdoorlife.com/articles/guns/shotguns/2007/09/how-buy-used-shotguns http://www.chuckhawks.com/used_shotgun.htm ...let me know if that helps.
Will this 725 be used for hunting, clay targets or maybe a little of both? Your decision could affect what style and barrel length to look for. Barrel length is also a decision which may be of some concern depending on what it is going to be used for. Field guns generally come as 26" or 28", but 30" can be had if looking in the right place. When it comes to skeet, Sporting Clays or Trap i would recommend at the very least a 30" barrel and possibly even a 32". The 725 is quite lively in the way it handles even in a 32". Only way your going to know is to go handle some in different lengths at the nearest Browning Dealer's Showroom.
